| What to do at Dolphin Bay |
For one thing, there is a restaurant as well. Good food for a reasonable price. The other thing is the
dolphins. To be frank this will be a hit and miss dolphin hunt. They are definately there, but they are not in
contact with humans like in some other places. So they are pretty fickle and sometimes only show their back
and their fins, if anything at all. Other times they are "running" in front of the boats and playing in the wake
behind. It's kind of like the Bocas weather, unpredictable. And it seems like the camera is never ready
when they decide to pop up. Some people say the morning is the best time to see them. I had my best luck in
the afternoon around 16:00 (04:pm). On this particular day they where extremely playful and kept jumping
the wake behind the boat. We kept going around and around until we where low on gas. By the way, the
dolphins are not limited to Dolphin Bay. They are all over the area and have been seen by some lucky
visitors right on their trip from Changuinola to Bocas in the mouth of the Changuinola River. They can also
show up on the trip to Almirante. They can pop up anywhere around here.
